I thought for a while there that Autumn was a prettier season overseas.

The town we lived in in the UK was a-MAZ-ing when the leaves began to turn – of course it might have had something to do with the massive park we lived across the road from, in our leafy-tree-lined suburb and the large established garden that came with our apartment.
Nevertheless, I remember commenting to Kent (probably more than once) that I didn’t remember Autumn being so lovely at home. As it turns out, it was more because I just forgot to see things, the way you do when you’ve lived somewhere forever and everything just merges into a background that is beautiful, but that you fail to notice because it’s just… there.

Thankfully on a drive to Auckland a couple of weeks ago, I realised just how wrong I was… Autumn in NZ is gorgeous!
